Free Excel Viewer 2 is a miniature spreadsheet viewer that allows users to load up documents created in Microsoft Office even if they don't have it installed. It supports a dizzying array of popular table file formats, which include:
- XLS
- XLSX
- XLSB
- ODS
- XML
The software will even allow you to view CSV files, which are essentially plain text that's been delimited by commas to resemble a complete spreadsheet document and function as one. When it loads these up, it gives you a fully graphical display. You wouldn't even need to know which type of file is which, since Free Excel Viewer 2 loads them all seamlessly. You could even associate the program with different types of workbooks so that it loads them up whenever you double click on icons in File Explorer.
A limited number of editing tools are also included with the software, which should help those who need to make changes to documents rather than just view them. While these are nowhere near as powerful as the one that come with a dedicated office app, it's rare to have anything like this in a viewer so the addition is more than welcome.
